Bayside Villa

This hundred-year-old Mediterranean style villa, sited near the Cape Cod Canal, had suffered severe deterioration due to weather and neglect. We substantially rebuilt the structure, including framing, skin and roofs, reusing what could be saved, and replacing what could not.

Combining state of the art building knowledge with traditional materials to create a durable reconstruction, we used authentic stucco, copper, redwood, blue-stone, and reclaimed clay tiles alongside synthetic stone, closed-cell spray-on insulation, and rain screen. We added whimsical facades and details throughout to complete the house aesthetically, adding curvy parapets, a base to meet the ground and a crown to meet the sky.
